UGC banned MPhil and PhD programmes through the distance education

University Grant Commission banned the MPhil and PhD programmes offered through any distance education conducted through Open University, institution deemed to be a university and colleges/institutions. This decession has been taken for the national importance in terms of the quality education at higher level.
The value of MPhil programmes through distance education increased after the exemption in the condition by NET for the candidates looking for university teachers.
