To provide education through distance learning /open education to the biggest state of India in terms of population, IGNOU has established its regional center at Lucknow the capital of Uttar Pradesh state. Regional center Lucknow came into existence on 1st December, 1986 with one study centre. Now Lucknow regional centre is the largest regional center of IGNOU in India.
