UGC in favor of uniform grading pattern, introduces India credit transfer system

University Grants Commission has started the process of evolving an Indian equivalence assessment and credit transfer system. The objective of this evaluation system to have a common method of assessment of grades among the Universities in the country & abroad; which would ensure smooth transferring system to the students at higher education level.

A committee of four member lead by director of the University of Pune, has been deputed by UGC to work upon & finalise expected model over the next six months. The team members of the committee are: noted academicians and scientists H C Pradhan of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai, Vijayshri of the Indira Gandhi National Open University's school of sciences, and N Subhash of the Centre for Earth Sciences Studies, Trivandrum. H K Chauhan will be the member secretary.
